As a counselor, I get the opportunity to help people during difficult times in their lives. I have had the privilege of doing this as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the past 25 years. I see my purpose as a counselor as helping people to become aware of their individual abilities, to be empowered with a sense of hope, and to recognize their ability to make a difference in the lives of people they encounter.
The majority of my experience has been with children, teens, young adults, and families. Because each person is an individual with different needs and abilities, I incorporate the use of different therapeutic treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Rational Emotive, Person Centered and others. I am also trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) related to 10 years of working with severely physically abused and sexually abused children and teens at The Child Advocacy Center of Cullman, Alabama.
I enjoy spending time with my family and serving others through my work and community.
