"Hello, I'm Lyn. With over 30 years of marriage and four wonderful children, I find joy in the bonds of family. I transitioned from being a professional educator to becoming a licensed professional counselor, holding a degree as an education specialist in Counselor Education from Ole Miss. My journey began at Calhoun Community College and continued at Athens State University, where I obtained a degree in elementary education. My masters degree from Walden University is in mental health counseling.
As a counselor, I specialize in treating trauma, working with children, adolescents, couples, and all aspects of human growth and development. My dedication to my field is reflected in my involvement as the former secretary for the Alabama Counseling Association and my membership in the American Counseling Association, National Addictions Professional Association, becoming a master addictions counselor and a National Certified Counselor.
Throughout my career, I have successfully treated individuals with substance use disorders, trauma, and PTSD. When working with children and adolescents, I employ expressive arts and play therapy. For couples, I utilize the Gottman and family systems approaches to enhance relationships.
In my pursuit of personal growth, I attended the Hoffman Process, an immersive group experience for gaining self-awareness. I possess comprehensive training in assessing, diagnosing, treating, and evaluating mental health disorders.
Originally raised in Neu Ulm, Germany, I have embraced a multicultural perspective. Outside of my professional endeavors, I enjoy practicing yoga, playing tennis, and indulging in the art of belly dancing.
I am passionate about helping others navigate their journeys toward healing and self-discovery. It would be an honor to assist you in your personal growth and development.
